Some nice pollack and ling from the wrecks. Cod were hard to come by with 4 dropped on one drift. Flatfish from the banks around Alderney were difficult to catch because of the longlines....
Chris Witcher 19lb ling Paul Bainbridge 5lb 2oz brill
Back to the shambles on a lovely spring day. Mackerel were harder to catch that 'bots. Ian Wilkinson from Probus in Cornwall had 4 the best being a 19lber....
While John Tisdale had to make do with 4 nice fish.....
An excellent three days bream fishing over the weekend peeking on sunday with donlad wilson's group catching well over a hundred fish. Largest black bream of the weekend went to Keet with a male of 3lb 14oz. Fishing at anchor on the slack we picked up the first tope of the year and as you can see there plenty of mackerel to keep us occupied in the mean time.
Breaking the third boat record of the year was high of the agenda but I didn't think it would arrive as soon as this. With a stiff northeast breeze for the majority of the day temperatures were down but this didn't seem to bother the flatties. 7 turbot on the day saw all anglers pleased with Robin smashing the boat record with a whopping 23lber caught on the slack. A second year in a row living above expectations on the shambles!!
The weather forecast from the previous week was NE6-7 but finally we had great weather for all 4 days. Some nice pollack on the way over. The best was a 16lber for Donald Wilson. Two days on the banks with some nice brill and turbot. Lots of small ones returned for the future...
