December Fishing

Two weeks of strong winds and rain finally came to an end and the forecast was for light winds from the north with bright sun shine. With a spring tide we decided to head over to the Isle of Wight grounds. The water was the colour of milk chocolate after the blow and a the fish came steadily during the day. Fish of the day was a 17lb cod caught by Silver Spray regular James from High Wycombe. There are a lot of congers on the ground and we managed 9 eels up to 40lb. This was supplemented with a thornback, whiting, pouts and doggies. The weather was just perfect and the day ended with a spectacular winter sunset.... cant wait to do it again

James Craft from High Wycombe with a good condition cod of 17lb

John from Fordingbridge with a thornie returned in good shape

Gloroius winter sunset and almost time to head for home
